China issues white paper on energy development

China released a white paper on the country's energy development on Monday.

Titled "Energy in China's New Era," the white paper was made public at a news briefing held by the State Council Information Office.

The head of the National Energy Administration (NEA) Zhang Jianhua and deputy secretary-general of the National Development and Reform Commission Zhao Chenxin were among those in attendance at the press conference.

According to the NEA's data, China's renewable energy capacity moved upward at full steam in the first half of the year.
