APD | Estonia tops corruption control drive in emerging Europe: WB

**TALLINN, Oct. 3 (APD) - **Estonia apparently has the highest score of corruption control among emerging Europe countries as seen in the World Bank’s (WB) latest Worldwide Governance Indicator (WGIs).

Estonia obtained a score of 89.9, followed by Slovenia and Georgia in the second and third positions with scores of 80.77 and 76.44 respectively, according to results of WB new study.

Poland and the Czech Republic also made it to the top five for the region, with respective scores of 74.52 and 69.23.

In term of top ten countries, Lithuania came later at sixth position at score of 68.75, followed by Slovakia at 66.35), Latvia at 64.42, Croatia ay 60.1, Hungary at 59.62, Montenegro at 58.17 and Romania at 52.40.

Based on the same study results, WB also ranked Estonia first in terms of government effectiveness in the region with a score of 84.62, followed by Slovenia and Lithuania with scores of 83.17 and 80.77 respectively.

WB also learned that Ukraine and Kosovo have the worst performance in government effectiveness terms with respective scores of 38.46 and 37.98.
