Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron informed each other over the phone on Friday of measures being taken in their countries aimed at minimizing the negative impacts of COVID-19.

Macron thanked Putin for Russia's assistance in returning French citizens to their homeland and in ensuring the conditions for shipping medical supplies and equipment to France through the territory of Russia, the Kremlin said in a press release.

The leaders agreed to maintain the dynamics of the development of bilateral cooperation during the phone call, which was initiated by Paris.

Putin and Macron also touched upon other issues on the international agenda, including the settlement of the Ukraine conflict, according to the Kremlin.
