"Without any doubt we will talk about the specifics of security in Baltic countries and the whole region, and what we seek on the upcoming NATO summit of heads of State and Government," Grybauskaite said in her exclusive interview with Lithuanian National Radio LRT.

"The meeting with Obama will be kind of preparatory before the key summit in Wales," she added.

Grybauskaite declined to comment on the details of the upcoming talks. Lithuanian president saw the meeting with Obama as an expression of strong support to the region and the serious understanding of its problems.

"The most important is that we receive extraordinary attention from one of the key members of NATO. We have strengthened presence of paratroopers and military exercises. We have seen additional security support for us in the air, on the land and in the sea recently," said Grybauskaite.

The meeting of the presidents of Baltic states and Barack Obama is scheduled on 3 September in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The NATO summit will be hosted by the U.K in Wales on 4 and 5 September.
