Indonesia extends deadline for pay hike decision

The Indonesian goverment has adjourned the deadline for policy makers at all 33 provinces to decide the hike of minimum wages, a measure aims at boosting the working capacity of workers, a minister said here on Tuesday.

Indonesian Labor Minister Muhaimin Iskandar said that the deadline would be extended to Nov. 25 from the previous dead of Nov. 20.

This means that the real deadline will be on Friday, Nov. 23, as the Nov. 25 is holiday, according to R. Irianto Simbolon, director general for industrial relation and social security at the labor ministry.
