Woman dies after Mexican police kneel on her neck

The death of Salvadoran Victoria Esperanza Salazar Arriaza at the hands of Mexican police Saturday in Tulum has brought international condemnation and protests in Mexico.

Autopsy reports confirm she had a fractured spine where her first and second vertebrae were ruptured.

The Mexican president and state prosecutor have spoken out against the killing.

36-year-old Arriaza, was arrested by police officers after authorities received a call reporting an intoxicated woman wandering on a highway, according to Mexican news outlets.
