The Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism has reminded the public to follow coronavirus-control rules when taking trips during the summer holiday season.

Tourists are advised to pay close attention to epidemic-related information released by local authorities, while following self-protection guidelines, such as wearing face coverings.

The ministry called on the public to abide by social-distancing rules when traveling on public transport, and when visiting parks, restaurants, and other public places.

Travelers should also plan ahead to ensure that the locations they intend to visit are open and appropriately prepared for visitors, the ministry added.

The public is reminded to check the weather forecasts for their destinations, staying alert to rainstorms, typhoons, and the summer heat.

The ministry also asked people to raise their awareness of self-safety, and behave themselves during holiday trips.
