The World Health Organization on Friday announced a new record in new daily coronavirus cases confirmed globally, with more than 350,000 cases reported to the U.N. health agency.

The figures eclipse the previous record of 338,779 which was reported on Thursday. The other record was 330,340 cases reported on October 2.

The Executive Director of the World Health Organization'sHealth Emergencies Programme Dr. Mike Ryan admitted in a press briefing that "there are no new answers" even as the coronavirus continues to surge across the world.

Ryan said that though the W.H.O. wanted countries to avoid the restrictive measures, such as lockdowns, that have devastated economies, authorities needed to ensure the most vulnerable people was protected and that several measures must be taken.

Globally, there have been more than 36.6 million confirmed coronavirus cases and more than one million deaths, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
