Foreign Friends Experience the Folk Customs of Dragon Boat Festival in Shanghai

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), 17 foreigners working and living in Shanghai rode bicycles to experience the city's architectural history and Dragon Boat Festival culture, exercising their health and enhancing friendship.

The participants came to the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Memorial Hall in Hongkou to learn about the history of the “Shanghai Ark” and the internationalist tradition of Shanghai culture. Riding by the north Bund to Joint Savings Bank Warehouse Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall, they listened to professionals tell them the battle story of "Eight hundred Heroes" and the history of Chinese people's unyielding resistance against aggression. After cycling to Sinan Residence, they explored the history of Sinan residence and Zhou Residence.

Giovanni Moreno, a Colombian football player, who works for Shanghai Shenhua Team, said, "I have been in Shanghai for many years. I have witnessed the changes in Shanghai with my own eyes. Through this cycling activity, I feel how such changes have happened.”

This event was hosted by Shanghai Public Diplomacy Association and Shanghai Radio and Television Station, supported by the Committee for Friendship with Foreign Countries of Shanghai CPPCC.
