Wang Yi: China's development is a growing force for global peace, stability

China's development is a growing force for peace and an increasing factor of global stability, Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee said on Monday.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during his talks with visiting Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto.

The senior Chinese diplomat appreciates Hungary's friendly policy towards China, saying that this is in line with the interests of the country and its people, the common interests of China and Europe, and the trend of the times.

Wang noted the two sides have respected, trusted, understood and supported each other, pushing the bilateral relations into the best period in history.

He reiterated China's support for Europe's strategic autonomy, urging EU countries, including Hungary, to safeguard genuine multilateralism, promote the democratization of international relations and push the global governance system towards a more just and reasonable direction.

Hungarian-Chinese and European-Chinese cooperation is an opportunity rather than a risk, Szijjarto said, adding that Hungary welcomes China's increased investment in the country and is ready to further enhance cooperation with China in various fields to push the relations between the two countries to a new level.

The Hungarian foreign minister also appreciated China's efforts in finding a political settlement of Ukraine crisis.
