A 29-year-old man has died and more than 200 have been injured after three nights of violent confrontations between protesters and riot police in Tripoli, Lebanon. Hundreds of people were out on the streets again in some of Lebanon’s poorest communities Thursday. Some threw stones, lit fires and destroyed the barriers erected to keep them contained.

Protesters say their living conditions have been made dire by the full-lockdown coronavirus measures on top of Lebanon’s ongoing economic crisis.
