Protesters against the government of Cuba and people rallying in support of the ruling party both took to the streets of Havana in the largest demonstrations in over a decade.

Some Cubans say they are upset with the government’s response to the island nation’s struggling economy and the pandemic, while other Cubans are in full support of the work the government has done, many blaming the U.S. for the issues they face.

The Trump administration undid many of Obama’s normalizations with the government of Cuba, which sent the barely recovering economy into a tailspin. U.S. President Biden has not changed any of the Trump-era policies regarding Cuba.
