Three Chinese navy ships visit Indonesia’s capital

**JAKARTA,

Sept. 15 (APD)** — Three Chinese navy ships arrived in Indonesia’s capital seaport of Tanjung Priok on Friday, scheduled to have activities aimed at bolstering China-Indonesia bilateral ties and make closer relations with Indonesian navy.

The three Chinese destroyer and logistic navy ships, codenamed Changchun, Jingzhou and Chahou, were warmly welcomed with an official ceremony featured with Chinese and Indonesia cultural attractions upon their arrivals in the seaport in the morning.

Deputy Commander Eastern Theater Command of China’s PLA (People’s Liberation Army) Navy Rear Admiral Shen Hao who leads the three Chinese navy ships during their visit in Indonesia said that the friendly visit was highly expected to further enhance bilateral ties, promote peace and stability.

“We would like to join hand with our Indonesian counterparts in contributing efforts to enhance bilateral relations, promote long-lasting stability and peace in the world,” Shen Hao said in his remarks in the session held in the port ground.

Hailing Shen Hao’s remarks, Commander of Third Indonesian Navy Base First Admiral Muhammad Richard who welcomed the visit said that the visit is part of global navy code, called Naval Diplomacy, where navy crews can make friendly visit to each other.

“We have scheduled several joint activates, among other sport matches to make us closer to each other,” Richard said.

Fleet of the three Chinese navy ships departed from Maldives prior to their arrival here. During their 4-day stay in Jakarta, those navy ships would receive Indonesian public who are eager to observe the foreign naval ships from Saturday to Sunday.

The Chinese navy ships were scheduled to continue their sailing to Brunei on Tuesday next week.
