China attaches great importance to protection of medics amid epidemic

China has stepped up protection of medical personnel to minimize the risks of novel coronavirus infections while they are treating patients, a health official said Friday.

The epidemic prevention and control efforts are now at a crucial stage, said Guo Yanhong, an official with the National Health Commission, at a press conference held in Beijing, calling on all parties to confront the difficulties together.
