DPRK soldier shot while reportedly defecting to S. Korea

A DPRK soldier was shot while reportedly defecting to South Korea through the Demilitarized Zone, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency said Monday, citing the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The soldier crossed to the South side of the Joint Security Area of the DMZ and was sent to a hospital for treatment, said Yonhap.
