A group wedding held in Moganshan, Zhejiang Province, received blessings from all over the country. More than 40 couples celebrated their big moment here this weekend.

The wedding registration process lasted for nearly two months, with many new couples who had postponed their wedding due to the pandemic signing up. Among them, there are front-line medical staff, grassroots cadres, and volunteers, as well as ordinary citizens who "stay at home" to fight the pandemic.

During the outbreak, many of them postponed their wedding so that they can worked day and night on the front lines. Now the group wedding has brought these people together to pledge to each other for life. China's top respiratory expert Zhong Nanshan and China's leading scientist Li Lanjuan respectively sent their blessings to the new couples.

Xu Yueyu, born in 1996, and Ni Kejing, born in 1999, were the youngest couple at the event, "My mother signed us up for this event. I'm a nurse and my husband is a policeman. It's special to be able to have a wedding with other people who have fought the epidemic," Ni said.

"We were planning on getting married soon, and it feels great to join the group celebration," said Lu Jiawen and Cheng Si, who felt much happier to have their big day with so many couples.

"The original intention of the wedding was to allow the medical staff who were on the front line, as well as the young people whose wedding was delayed due to the outbreak, to enjoy a good group wedding in Moganshan county," said an event planner.

The event also promoted the Moganshan scenic spot. The resort will take this collective public welfare wedding as an opportunity and will continue to hold various activities to promote the Moganshan tourism and homestay industry.
