ItissaidthepagodaheldsutrasandfigurinesoftheBuddhathatwerebroughttoChinafromIndiabyBuddhisttranslatorandtraveler,Xuanzang.

Thepurposeoftherenovationistoenhancethepagoda'seavesandstrengthenitsweatheringresistance.

ThepagodawillremainopentothepublicanditsrenovationisestimatedtobecompletedbytheendofSeptember.
