9 killed, 35 injured in Bangladesh garment factory explosion

At least nine people were killed and 35 others injured after a boiler exploded in a garment factory in Bangladesh on Monday, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The incident occurred in an industrial district outside the capital, Dhaka.

The blast also affected other buildings near the factory, said a police officer.

The injured were sent to a hospital in Dhaka.

An investigation is underway.
