Some Lao artists have composed songs to voice their support to medical teams and frontline workers in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
A song named "Thank you" is one of these songs, which was composed by Lao singer named Aluna Thavonsouk.
Aluna wrote both lyrics and melodies to express her deepest love and support toward the work that all the doctors, nurses and other frontline workers have been doing during this tough time.
"I would love to say thank you through my music and lyrics via my voice," said Aluna to Xinhua on Tuesday here.
After the song was released, many Lao people, including Lao artists made a cover version and uploaded it to social media platforms like facebook and youtube.
Medical teams and frontline workers are the true heroes, who have been sacrificing and risking their lives to save people, said the Lao artist.
Aluna told Xinhua about her inspiration to made this song. She said she has been following the news of Lao and visiting Chinese doctors and nurses, who work days and nights to save lives.
"These actions have touched my soul a lot and made me ask myself what I can do to help," she added.
Aluna said that she once had a chance, singing songs together with other Lao artists to support Wuhan, and she hoped her song can be translated into Chinese so that the Chinese can understand the meaning of the song.
She also encouraged people in Laos and around the world to be patient during this tough time. "Be patient, be kind to each other, and ask ourselves what lessons we can learn from this situation."
