Chinese First Lady sent appreciation letter to students in Sri Lanka

Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, sent a letter to the students of Devi Balika Vidyalayain, Sri Lanka, thanking them for their support during the outbreak of the coronavirus and encouraging them to keep contributing to the friendship between China and Sri Lanka.

Peng Liyuan said that she received letters and drawings during this especially hard time when China is fighting the coronavirus.

"Your paintings are very good and full of love. They convey the sincere friendship of Sri Lanka and China. President Xi Jinping and I like them very much. Love is our greatest strength against disease. After the outbreak of the epidemic, all sectors of Sri Lanka society spontaneously held blessing activities for China and gave us care and support. Positive results are being achieved in prevention and control. We have the confidence, ability, and confidence to overcome the epidemic," Peng said.

Peng pointed out that China-Sri Lanka's friendship goes back to ancient times. "In you, I see the future of friendship between the two countries. I hope you will live up to your time, study hard and be a little messenger of China-Sri Lanka friendship.”

Devi Balika Vidyalayain is a well-known public school with about 2,000 students. Forty-three young girls from the school wrote a letter to the First Lady of China, together with their drawings supporting China.
