Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his three-day visit to Israel on Thursday.

It was the first visit by a sitting Indian Prime Minister to the Jewish state.

Modi has signed deals in agriculture, the tech sector and weapons, CGTN’s Stephanie Freid reported.

Israel and India established diplomatic ties in 1992 and it took twenty-five years for the top brass to visit Israel.

Trade volume between the two countries is reported two billion dollars per year and business leaders from both sides are pushing for a free trade agreement.

One aspect of deals is defense system as Israel is selling its missile and air defense system to India.

The deals include multi-billion dollars worth of Spike anti-tank missile systems and Barak 8 Naval based air defense systems.

The two countries already cooperate on defense and intelligence information sharing and the two leaders agreed to continue expanding that cooperation.

In the coming months, India and Israel are scheduled to hold joint military training exercises in the region.
