Advisors to U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Wednesday endorsed use of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine in kids as young as 12.
CDC Director Rochelle Walensky told parents in a tweet on Wednesday afternoon that CDC now recommends Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine be used for 12 to 15-year-old adolescents. "Getting your adolescent vaccinated means they can return to social activities faster. It also gives you peace of mind knowing your family is protected," she said.
