Thailand will hold its first expo in Yangon next weekend aimed at providing a platform for Myanmar entrepreneurs to establish business links with Thai manufacturers, sources with the expo said Sunday.

The four-day Thailand Week-2015, organized by the Thai Department of International Trade Promotion, will run from Jan. 15 to 18.

Around 80 leading Thai companies will showcase their products and services ranging from food and beverage to health and beauty products, household utensils, garment, textile and fashion accessories, automotive parts and home decoration products, the sources said, adding that a business seminar will touch on trade and investment policies between the two countries.

Thailand also plans a similar expo in Mandalay, Myanmar's second largest city, for late August aimed at promoting bilateral trade and investment.

Thailand is a key trading partner of Myanmar, with the two countries' bilateral trade amounting to 5.682 billion U.S. dollars in fiscal year 2013-14.

Meanwhile, Thailand's investment in Myanmar amounted to 10.209 billion U.S. dollars in 80 projects as of September 2014, accounting for 20.46 percent of the total foreign input.
