5.9-magnitude quake hits 2 km SSE of Iquique, Chile -- USGS

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted 2 km SSE of Iquique, Chile at 01:40 a.m. local time (0540 GMT) on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 73.82 km, was initially determined to be at 20.2353 degrees south latitude and 70.1399 degrees west longitude.
