The ministry of public security has announced that China has banned four new synthetic opioids, including u-47700. The new designer drugs will be added to a list of controlled substances in the country.

The Chinese government pays much attention to the control of opioid analgesic drugs. In October 2015, more than 100 of these drugs were listed as illegal.

“Since the implementation of ‘Methods for the Management of Non-pharmaceutical Narcotics and Psychotropic Drugs,’ scores of related criminal suspects have been caught, and about 10 tons of new psychoactive drugs and materials not listed in the regulation have been found,” said Deng Ming, the Deputy Director of Drug Enforcement Administration.

These designer drugs have been spreading widely and have become the third generation of drugs after traditional drugs and synthetic drugs.
