Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced on Friday that the second patient has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Turkey.
"He is from the immediate circle of our first patient, who was followed up as soon as the diagnosis was made," Koca said on Twitter.
He noted that Turkey has taken necessary measures to contain the spread of the virus. "We will overcome this problem together," he said.
Turkey announced its first case of COVID-19 on March 11. The infected person "had contact with Europe," said the minister earlier without giving further details.
