Afghan forces kill 11 militants, destroy 2 weapon caches in eastern Logar province

Afghanistan forces in crackdown against militants have killed 11 Taliban fighters and destroyed two weapon caches of the armed group in the eastern Logar province over the past 24 hours, said an army statement released here Thursday.

The operations covered parts of the restive Charkh district and would continue until the area is cleared of insurgents, according to the statement.

Taliban militants who are active in parts of Logar province with Pul-e-Alam as its capital 60 km south of Kabul haven't commented.
