Kyrgyzstan reports 21 new COVID-19 cases

Kyrgyzstan reported 21 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing its total number to 1,037.

Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbaev said three new cases came from abroad, with one from Dubai and two from Russia.

Usenbaev added that another six medical workers tested positive for COVID-19. So far, the total number of infected medical workers has risen to 241, with 186 recoveries.

He said that 14 pregnant women have contracted the disease since March, but all of them have received appropriate treatment.

Currently, 316 patients are being treated in hospitals across the country, four of whom need intensive care.

Usenbaev said that in the last 24 hours, 21 patients recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 709.

A total of 1,205 people infected with the novel coronavirus are still under medical observation, Usenbaev said.
