BEIJING, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- China's weather observatory forecasted that cold front, rain and smog will affect traffic rush on Tuesday as the week-long Lunar New Year holiday is coming to an end.

The National Meteorological Center (NMC) said a cold front will sweep across northern China on Tuesday, bringing gales and snow.

Rain will continue in south China provinces in the upcoming three days and torrential rain will pound some regions on Wednesday.

Smog will blanket north and central China until Wednesday morning.

The NMC warned travellers of bad weather and advised them to make preparations.
