OntheafternoonofJuly30,LluisMontoliu,formerchairmanoftheInternationalSocietyofTransgenicTechnology(ISTT),repliedtoanemailfromaCaixinreporter.Inhisemail,MontoliuexplainedthateveryexperimenttryingtoreproduceHan’sresultssinceHan'spaperwaspublishedhassofarfailed.

Facingmountingdoubts,Hanrepliedthathisresultscanonlybeproventhroughscience,andhewillnotrespondtomediaspeculation,whichinhisopinionis“notscientific.”
