Visas for Chinese mainland residents to Hong Kong will resume on January 8

On January 5, China's Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council issued a notice to resume transfer/transit services at Hong Kong and Macao International airports to the Chinese mainland from 2023.

The passenger load factor restrictions on flights between Hong Kong and Macau to and from the mainland are canceled, and the number of flights will be gradually increased in an orderly manner.

The visa application for Mainland residents traveling to Hong Kong for tourism and business purposes will be resumed.

The notice will take effect on January 8, 2023.
