An online exhibition that brings together artists from China and Saudi Arabia opened on Sept. 1, with the goal of promoting cultural exchanges and friendship between the two countries. Insight of China – China-Saudi Arabia Digital Art Exhibition is scheduled to last through Sept. 30.

The exhibition features 14 works by artists from China and Saudi Arabia, representing a manifestation of the cultural and artistic development of the two countries. More than 400 works by artists from 20 other member countries of the League of Arab States (LAS) are also on display.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the exhibition was relegated to an online format. Nevertheless, it's still expected to strengthen the friendship between citizens of China and Saudi Arabia, with an eye towards fostering a favorable atmosphere for next year's China-Arab Summit.

Initiated and hosted by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with additional support from the culture ministries of the ALS countries, Insight of China is an important cultural exchange project for the two regions.

Under the flagship China-Arab culture exchange program, 11 visits to China for Arab painters, four for Arab sculptors and one for Arab ceramists were organized between 2009 and 2019.

Through these visits, nearly 200 Arab artists have gleaned insights into the Chinese culture and its people, thereby deepening their understanding of the country in a holistic way.

The current exhibition also provides visitors with information about previous activities under the Insight of China program.
