Child labor on the rise due to pandemic

June 12 is the World Day Against Child Labour, and the message of ending child exploitation is never more pressing. The coronavirus pandemic has caused a rise in the number of child laborers Latin America. The UN has also estimated that impacts of COVID-19 could cause an additional 300,000 Latin American children to seek jobs. There are already 10.5 million children who are child laborers.
