The USA Cricket, the new board set up under ICC's supervision to administer cricket in the United States of America following the expulsion of USACA last year, has appointed a four-member panel to seek recommendations for the three independent directors for the board, it was announced on Friday (April 13).

Amy Perko, Rohan Chandran, Keith Aaron and Dave Richardson form the four-member panel. One of the objectives of the panel is to recommend a female candidate who has not held any cricket governance or administration roles for at least the last three years. "This is another positive step forward in USA Cricket's journey under the guidance of the Sustainable Foundation Advisory Group on the pathway set out under the USA Cricket Constitution that was approved in December 2017," Richardson, the ICC chief executive, said about the announcement.

Another role the four-member panel - named Nominating and Governance Committee - will have is to lead the election process of the inaugural Board of Directors of USA Cricket. They have also been assigned the task of screening candidate "for compliance against the criteria set out in the USA Cricket Constitution".

USA Cricket had earlier launched a comprehensive new Membership Program and the reintroduction of a regional combine system for national men's, women's and youth team selection.
