California's homelessness crisis amid COVID pandemic

Nearlyfivepeople are dying on the streets of Los Angeles every day from a variety of causes including COVID-19.

The death rate among the homeless population of LA has seen a 74 percent increase in just over a year.

And this comes as charity and rights groups are blaming the city for failing to take advantage of federal fundingto keepthe homeless in hotel rooms tocontainthe pandemic.
