Catholics in Portugal pray for an end of the COVID-19 pandemic

Thousands of Catholics gathered at the Fatima Sanctuary in Portugal, to pray for those impacted by COVID-19 and an end to the pandemic. As part of an annual pilgrimage that marks the last reported vision of the Virgin Mary more than a century ago, usually about 100,000 people make the trip to Fatima. But because of COVID-19, only 6,000 people were allowed inside the outdoor venue.
