BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhua) -- The relapse of the COVID-19 epidemic in China would not be a great concern under the current prevention and control measures, a Chinese expert said Monday.
The outbreak of COVID-19 in China has almost seen its end, said Cao Wei, a physician of infectious diseases from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, at a press conference.
She added that the number of newly reported cases of COVID-19 in the country, including imported ones, might stay at a relatively low level, but it would last for a certain period of time as the imported cases have become an important source of COVID-19.
China will still need to wait for another month to make the final judgment of the epidemic situation, according to Cao. ■
