An extra flight will be launched between the southern Chinese city of Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Bangkok on Friday.

According to GX Airlines, the newly-launched round-trip flight will be operated daily, increasing its number of flights between the two cities to two everyday.

Guangxi Airport Group said the new service will further meet the needs of personnel and material exchanges between the two cities as well as China and ASEAN countries at large, especially amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

The airline company said it has transported 9.5 tonnes of anti-epidemic materials through the Nanning-Bangkok route as of Monday.
