According to recent reports, US President Donald Trump might travel to Houston on September 22, to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi will be in Houston to address the Indian diaspora. After meeting the Indian community he is also scheduled to have a roundtable meeting with the CEOs and top executives of US energy companies.
Prime Minister Modi will be arriving in New York for the UN General Assembly before heading to Houston.
A Houston-based non-profit company called Texas India Forum will host the Indian-American community summit.
Around 50,000 members of the Indian community are expected to attend the vent in Houston. According to some reports President Trump might also attend the event.
In case he is not able to attend Modi’s address, he might attend the meeting with energy executives.
The meeting will be important since last few years India has been importing energy from the US. Last year India’s energy imports from the US were estimated to be worth $4 billion.
