The top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un has recently guided the test firing of newly developed anti-tank guided weapons, the official KCNA news agency reported Saturday.

The weapons were developed by DPRK's national defense experts, according to the KCNA.

The test fire aimed to verify the flying control and accuracy of a portable anti-tank laser-guided rocket as well as the power of the warhead, it said.

According to the report, several improvements had been made to the weapons from an earlier inspection, including an extension of the firing range and an increase in the power of the warhead and its ability to penetrate armored vehicles.

The news agency said Kim was satisfied with the test results. He instructed that a massive production of the weapons should immediately begin.

Officials accompanying Kim in the inspection included Director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Hwang Pyong So and Chief of the General Staff of the KPA Ri Myong Su. Enditem
