Indonesian former State-owned Enterprises (SoE) minister Dahlan Iskan was grilled by prosecutors at the Attorney General Office (AGO) on Wednesday after he was slapped a suspect status in several corruption cases occurred during his service as the minister.

The interrogation against the former minister at the AGO was related to misuse of power in the procurement of 16 electric cars which were originally designated to the Asia Pacific Economy Cooperation (APEC) Summit held in Indonesia's Bali in 2013.

"I would not make comments as my lawyer, Mr. Yusril, had already gave his explanation to the prosecutors," he told reporters on the sidelines of the interrogation session, referring to name of his lawyer Yusril Ihza Mahendra, a former legal and human rights minister served from 2001 to 2004.

Dahlan, who served as SoE minister from 2012 to 2014, instructed three SoE under his supervision to sponsor the project.

The electric cars consisting of microbus and executive buses were apparently not used during the APEC event. Instead, those electric cars were donated to six prominent state universities in the country which is not stipulated in the project contract.

Two directors of the SoE involved the case had already been declared suspects by the higher prosecutor office (Kejati) recently.

Dahlan Iskan was declared a suspect last week after being investigated by prosecutors at Kejati in relation with development projects of 21 central power transformers in Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions from 2011 to 2013.
