Chinese mainland reports 5 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland reported five locally transmitted COVID-19 cases on Sunday, three in Liaoning Province and two in Anhui Province, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Monday.

Twenty cases from overseas were also reported on Sunday. No new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported on Sunday, the NHC said.

Seventeen new asymptomatic cases were recorded, with 347 asymptomatic patients under medical observation.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 90,872, with the death toll remaining at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,824 (11,525 recoveries, 210 deaths)

Macao: 50 (49 recoveries)

Taiwan: 1,682 (1,116 recoveries, 12 deaths)
