China’s three e-commerce giants — Alibaba, Suning and JD.com — are busily preparing for the upcoming “Double Eleven Shopping Festival” on November 11, equipping themselves with technology including robots, big data and smart logistic, the China Securities Journal reported.

Alibaba’s logistics arm, Cainiao Network, has launched a robotic warehouse in Guangdong province to upgrade its service in South China.

More than 100 robots can deliver over one million packages per day, the report said. These types of warehouses have started operating in Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Hubei.

While JD’s autonomous warehouses in Shanghai, Wuhan and Kunshan will also be put into use during the shopping festival, its self-developed drones and self-driving cars will also undergo delivery road tests.
