French President Hollande to visit Japan

French President Francois Hollande will pay a state visit to Tokyo at the invitation of the Japanese government from June 6 to 8, said the presidency Monday in a statement.

In Japan, the French head of state and the first lady Valerie Trierweiler will be officially welcomed by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko.

During the visit, Hollande will meet Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for talks on bilateral relations.

He will deliver a speech to both the House of Representatives and the House of Councilors. In addition, he will also talk to French and Japanese business leaders, meet young people and cultural workers, and visit a museum and Franco-Japanese technological innovations center at the Japanese company KDDI, according to the president's office.

Moreover, Hollande and Abe will also hold a joint press conference to the public. Private dinner and state banquet offered by the Japanese side are also seen on the schedule released by the Elysee Palace.
