China monitors passage of U.S. warship through Taiwan Straits

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) naval and aerial forces closely followed and monitored U.S. warship USS Mustin when it sailed through China's Taiwan Straits on Friday night, Senior Colonel Zhang Chunhui, a spokesperson for the PLA Eastern Theater Command, said.

China firmly opposes the recent passage of U.S. warships through the Taiwan Straits, said Zhang, warning that the U.S. moves undermine the peace and stability of the region.
