7 killed in suspected gas poisoning at food factory in SW China

Seven people were killed and one person was hospitalized after suspected poisoning by noxious gas at a food processing factory in Yibin City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, local authorities said on Tuesday.

The incident took place at around 3 p.m. on Monday when the factory was undergoing a facilities check.

The person hospitalized is stated to be in stable condition.

An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
