No reason justifying U.S. suspension of funding to WHO, says top EU diplomat

The European Union's foreign policy chief expressed his regret on Wednesday over the U.S. decision to suspend funding to the World Health Organization (WHO). U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that his administration is halting the nation's funding to the WHO.

Josep Borrell, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said on Twitter that he "Deeply regret US decision to suspend funding to @WHO. There is no reason justifying this move at a moment when their efforts are needed more than ever to help contain mitigate the #coronavirus pandemic. Only by joining forces we can overcome this crisis that knows no borders."
