White doves released in remembrance of Australian Bali bombing victims

Eighty-eight white doves were released on top of a Sydney headland to mark the 13th anniversary of the 2002 Bali Bombings.

Family and friends of the victims gathered at the Coogee Beach Bali Memorial on Monday to remember their love ones lost in the Jemaah Islamiyah attack on Indonesia's most famous tourist strip in Kuta.

The ceremony included tributes from dignitaries and family members, a musical performance and a minute silence before the doves were released, local media reported.

A commemorative concert for the victims will be held in Bali, Indonesia on Monday night featuring song, dance and poetry recitals from teens who were once toddlers when they lost their parents in the attack that claimed 202 lives.

The Australian Consulate-General in Bali will also open its Memorial Garden for private reflection and remembrance on Monday. Enditem
