China's 'Peony capital' listed on Asia's largest flower trading market

The city of Heze in Shandong Province, known as China's "peony capital", has launched a fresh flower trading center, in a strategic collaboration with Asia's largest fresh flower trading market, Kunming International Flora Auction Trading Center (KIFA) in southwest China's Yunnan Province.

The Heze trading center will mainly focus on peony and has ensured high-quality fresh cut peony through meticulous supply quality and logistics management. In recent years, the consumption of fresh-cut flower market tends to high-level products and peony is one of them. It has provided an opportunity for the development of the peony fresh-cut flower market.

Heze has a peony cultivation history dating back over 1,500 years and has developed into China's largest base for peony production, research, export and observation, with the most varieties of peony flowers in the world.

With plantations covering a total of 32,000 hectares, Heze's peony industry generated close to 10.2 billion yuan (about $1.5 billion) in revenue in 2022. Peony products are exported to over 30 countries and regions around the globe, including the United States, France, Germany, and Japan.
