Xu Jiao, a Chinese young movie star, wore Hanfu, a traditional Chinese style of clothing, to attend an international film festival. The clothing she wore was elegant and distinctive which attracted much attention of foreign media.

Xu Jiao herself is a super fan of Hanfu who posted various photographs of Hanfu on her social media account.

Because of her passion for the traditional Chinese clothing, she is engaged in popularizing Hanfu culture on different occasions.

She chooses Hanfu over other types of formal dresses when attending a TV show.

She insists on wearing Hanfu at a talk show, saying it is exquisite with ancient Chinese characteristics.

It’s not the first time that Xu Jiao walked the red carpet in Hanfu, she already tried it at the Shanghai international film festival four years ago.

As one of the symbols of Chinese culture, Hanfu distinguishes itself from other nationalities by carrying the unique features of Han people. In the contemporary society, the mainstream of the culture is occupied by many other cultures, western or eastern. Hanfu should find its way to survive from these.

More and more Chinese elements can be seen on the international arena as many foreign superstars such as Rihanna and Sarah Jessica Parker begin to wear formal dress with Chinese elements.
